Menstruation is taken as a taboo in Nepal. Menstruating girls and women are supposed as impure thing and are banished to the sheds during their periods while in this situation to practice hygiene is equal to impossible. People in rural places are unaware about the importance of Menstrual Hygiene; they are lack in knowledge what the consequences of poor Menstrual Hygiene practice are. It is a surprise that some girls they even do not know the reason for their bleeding because to talk about menstruation is a big no thing in Nepalese Societies. Urban areas are little forward in this case but rural area are still backward and following all superstitious beliefs related to Menstruation. Unhygienic Menstrual practice could lead to various cancer. It is vital to have knowledge about the natural phenomena one goes through and its proper management as well. To improve the health of Nepalese girls and women Save Humanity is in process to conduct Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program in rural areas of Nepal.
